Where does training take place?
Training normally takes place in the client’s home, neighborhood, or another appropriate real-life environment.
Do you use e-collars or prong collars?
No. I won’t ever use an e-collar, pinch collar, choke chain, slip leash, or any device meant to cause fear or pain.
Which program should I choose?
You do not need to diagnose the issue yourself. Describe your dog and concerns, and Erik will help determine the appropriate program.
Will you train my dog, or teach me?
Both. Erik works directly with the dog while teaching you how to continue the process between sessions.
Can you guarantee that aggression will be cured?
No. Fear, aggression, and reactivity are complex and cannot be responsibly approached with guarantees. The focus is improved safety, understanding, skills, quality of life, and a realistic individual plan.
Do you work with puppies?
Yes. Puppy Foundations provides five weeks of private in-home help with early habits, manners, and emotional skills.
Do you provide basic obedience?
Yes, with an emphasis on practical household and real-world manners rather than competition obedience.
Do you offer group classes?
The primary service featured here is private, in-home training. Contact Erik if you have a question about another format.
What areas do you serve?
Primary service areas include Knoxville, Farragut, and Maryville, followed by the Tri-Cities, Greeneville, Rogersville, Bulls Gap, Bristol, Kingsport, Johnson City, and Abingdon when practical.
